Corsairs are mercenaries who work under the payment and protection of one particular Kingdom or Nation with the objective of disrupting other Nation's Trade routes, harrass their navies or even hunt down pirates who act against the interest of the employeer nation.

Under contract, Corsair Captains will not attack, -and there have been cases where they have been known to protect- any airship flying under their employeer's flag. However, most Corsairs sell their loyalty to the highest bidder so, if you want to keep a Corsair's loyalty, you must make sure you pay him well. Still, they are often worth every gold coin because they can be as daring as any pirate or as effective in combat as any Navy Commander, and they can be used to attack any rival nation's interests without provoking a war. Their Crews more often than not consist of penitent criminals or dissident navy sailors who must serve under the Corsair Capitan's command in order to earn a royal pardon. For this reason, Corsair Captains often rule their crews with an Iron fist matched only by their ruthlessness agianst the enemies of their employees.
